Your golf shoes matter when it comes to getting the most out of your game.
When most of us think about improving our game, we think about swing mechanics and equipment. Don’t get me wrong, they’re vital to shooting lower scores, but your footwear plays a big role too.
If your feet are aching, it can make it hard to swing aggressively throughout the round. Not to mention, you can develop blisters and possibly even affect your lower back, which is golfer’s kryptonite.
Needless to say, your golf shoes can play a big role in helping you play better golf. If you want a shoe that is more comfortable than you could imagine, you will love the Skechers Go Golf Torque shoes.
Skechers Go Golf Torque Golf Shoes Review
When I was making my weekly visit to the golf store, a new pair of shoes caught my eye. As someone who normally plays golf in FootJoys, I was surprised to find a new pair – the Skechers Go Golf Torque shoes.
What appealed to me the most was the look – the all white shoe looked more like a cloud than it did a golf shoe. I had a few tournaments that required me to walk vs. ride in a cart so I knew that I needed shoes that would keep my feet comfortable so I could focus on golf. Since then, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with them and can’t stop raving about them to my golf buddies.
So, what makes them such a great shoe for the everyday player? Let’s review…

Simple, Stylish Design
While Skechers is known for making wildly comfortable shoes, they don’t always look the best compared to other brands. But the Go Golf shoes flip the script as they are a great looking athletic golf shoe. They aren’t a traditional golf shoe in terms of design but look phenomenal in any of the color options.
The Torque is offered in two patterns; one is a very small pattern in the middle of the shoe and hardly noticeable in the white. While the other design is a subtle line that goes in the middle of the shoe and wraps around the back.
Extreme Comfort
As I mentioned before, Skechers is known for comfort above all else. Thanks to the Ultra-Go foam cushioning, these are some of the most comfortable shoes you will find.
They also have a cushioned comfort insole and flexible traction outsole. If you’re someone that loves to get out and exercise vs. riding in a cart, these are a great pick.
The one downside is that these shoes have an insole that is secured to the shoe. You can’t swap out with an insert that provides more arch support or padding.
Six Color Options
Another perk about these golf shoes is that you can choose from six color combinations. Here’s a look:
- All white (black sole): This is a great option when playing in warm, summer weather.
- Gray (blue sole): The gray is a nice option for warmer weather and has a bright blue sole.
- White (navy sole): If you prefer a shoe with extra style, the white/navy is a good choice as it has a different pattern on the middle portion of the shoe.
- Black (white sole): They have two black options and this one is the same as the white with navy sole. They have a different pattern in the middle of
- Gray (lime sole): If you want to make a fashion statement on the golf course, the gray with lime sole is a more fun, colorful option.
- Black (red sole): If you’re the type of golfer who loves to wear Tiger’s signature black and red outfit on the golf course, you can’t go wrong with this color combination. The sole is red while the shoe is black and white, arguably the best looking.
Regardless of which color you choose, they all come with a traditional lace-up system.
FAQs and Other Options from Skechers
If you have more questions about these golf shoes and others from Skechers, check out the answers below.

Are Skecher torque golf shoes waterproof?
Yes, these are 100% waterproof and will keep your feet dry, even when it’s wet and rainy on the golf course. I’d suggest skipping the all white design if you intend to use them in winter and opt for a darker color instead.
After researching tons of other shoes from Skechers, these appear to be the most waterproof of any shoes. Most others are water-resistant, not waterproof, so these are the best for winter conditions.
Is there a waterproof warranty?
Unlike a lot of other shoes they don’t explicitly say there is a waterproof warranty. Some reviewers on Amazon have mentioned they do have a warranty but it’s not as clear-cut as other brands. I’d suggest emailing their customer service department before buying if you have any warranty questions.
Are Skechers golf shoes true to size?
Yes, they are true to size. I typically wear FootJoy shoes but after trying on these shoes at the golf store, I knew I needed them. For reference, I wear a 10 in FJ and Skechers. If you have an existing pair of Skechers, you can buy the same size as they are the same throughout different models.
The biggest difference between Skechers and other brands is the width. I bought the standard width and they felt slightly wider than my FootJoys. Other golfers have said the wide version is significantly wider than most and should keep your feet breathing freely during the round.
Does Skechers make spikeless golf shoes?
Yes, Skechers continues to expand their product line and make shoes with traditional spikes and others without. Here are some of our favorite spikeless designs:
- Skechers Pivot Spikeless golf shoes: These are some of the best looking shoes that they make. Even though they’re spikeless in design, they still have an outsole with turf traction that is better than a lot of competitors and provide a good amount of traction. These shoes are water-resistant, not waterproof, so they’re better for warmer, dry conditions. But they are ultra lightweight and extremely affordable.
- Skechers Max Rover Relaxed Fit golf shoes: If you want a pair that is more of a relaxed, casual style you’ll love the Max Rover. These relaxed fit spikeless golf shoes are more of a slip on shoe but still provide plenty of support to help you play better golf. These are lightweight, water-repellent, and have a Goga max high-rebound cushioning, which is great if you’re walking the course. The only downside is that they’re only available in two colors; all gray or black/gray. Otherwise, they’re an awesome choice.
What is the most comfortable shoe from Skecher?
The “Max” version from Skecher is known as the most comfortable. They have a “GoWalk” shoe design but aren’t quite as stylish as the Go Golf Torque in my opinion.
What professional golfers wear Skechers?
Skechers is more of a shoe brand than a golf brand (like FootJoy) as they make shoes for just about every sport or occasion. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have some big names wearing these shoes either.
Some of the biggest names in the game of golf to wear Skechers include Matt Kuchar, Colin Montgomerie, Billy Andrade, Brook Henderson, and more.
Final Thoughts on Skechers Torque Golf Shoes
I’m quite impressed with these Skechers shoes and think for the price, they are some of the best on the market. They’re lightweight, extremely comfortable, and look great in any of the colors available. Plus, they offer real spikes so you can get maximum control and not slip out of any shots (especially if you play in tough weather conditions).
They’re also wider than most, so you don’t have to worry about squeezing your feet in and getting any blisters after a long day on the golf course. Overall, a great shoe that is ideal if you love walking vs. riding and want maximum comfort above all else.
